In the beginning...

Twas the first day of September, when with my new spouse,
We started a blog, with the click of a mouse.
The settings were chosen and saved with care,
In hopes that our readers soon would be there.

Finally recovered from being recently wed,
With visions of wedding plans gone from our heads,
And time to do more than just live for a nap,
We settled on blogging, so here's a recap...

When as Freshmen in the dorms of BYU we met,
We figured a fellow Californian was a pretty safe bet.
So away from the Morris Center we went with a flash,
Figuring "real food" was definitely worth the real cash.

Then some time later, when push came to shove,
We realized "What the heck, we've fallen in love!"
Then Sam was called to Chile on a mission,
And our relationship was put on hold for a 2 year intermission.

So Sam preached the good word and fought the Patagonian chill,
While Jessica kept in touch through Anne and Bill.
Then last August Sam returned and no longer were we parted,
And back to Utah we went, right where it all started.

From Utah to Oregon with a view of the ocean,
Sam took Jessica so he could declare his undying love and devotion.
But Jessica wouldn't walk slow enough so he could get on one knee,
So he proposed as together they looked at the sea.

Jessica said "Yes" and Oh my! What chaos ensued,
With all the planning, there was so much to do.
But together we conquered the dress, registry and flowers,
With help from so many and millions of man hours.

On July 30th in the Sacramento Temple we were married,
And made it through the reception only slightly harried.
With our beloved friends and family we celebrated,
Now sealed for time and all eternity, we're elated!

So together here in Provo we live and we work,
And finally we have internet (now that's a perk!)
Updated we'll keep you as we see how this all goes,
Each day is a new adventure, as you all know.

Hopefully as you keep up with our blog you can see,
How beautiful we consider each moment to be.
And now as this reaches a full terabyte,
Let us simply say-

"Happy Blogging to all and to all a good night!"

  1. Hey Jessica!
Congrats! What a cute way to share the story of how you and your husband met! I am currently waiting for my future spouse while he serves in Argentina. It is always comforting to hear of couples who survived the 2 years apart. I have about 7 months to go and cannot wait for him to come home!
Good luck with all your endeavors!
